Founded in a small town of Canton, Illinois in 1902, International Harvester was created by merging several different companies - McCormick Harvesting Machine Company, Deering Harvester Company and three smaller agricultural equipment firms.

The first Farmall tractor was introduced in 1923 as a model. Achieving great success IHC decided to brand the Farmall name and farming was forever changed.
