About Us

Dave Steiner grew up farming on an Allis Chalmers WC in the 1950's.  During his high school years, he began fixing up tractors and reselling them.  After high school, Dave started his own salvage yard and farmed to work his way through college.  He attended and graduated from Michigan State University with an Agricultural Engineering degree.  Over the years, he noticed that certain parts on tractors always wore out and the supply of used parts could not meet the demand.  So Dave began building "new parts for old tractors", starting with the Allis Chalmers B manifold.  The increasing demand for other manifolds and parts soon became apparent.  Dave's small business grew very quickly when he and his wife, Sue, offered a small 4-page flyer.  Today, Steiner Tractor Parts has grown to a 656 page catalog with over 6,000 parts, displaying our commitment to keep old tractors alive and preserve our agricultural heritage.

As the business grew, a new 45,000 square foot warehouse was built in 2003, including a store for the public. The new warehouse built in 2003 was planned to allow ten years of growth. Right on time, the company started to outgrow the new building in 2013. Steiner waited it out and finally added on 40,000 square feet in 2017.  Located in Lennon Michigan the warehouse also houses the corporate offices. The company employs a staff of 58 individuals in the following areas; advertising, customer service, marketing, order processing, quality control, shipping and receiving.  Their pledge is to provide exemplary customer service

The family business went through a transition not only in size, but also in management.
Dave and Sue's son, Daniel, and youngest daughter, Jennifer, are now President and Vice President.  As a teenager, Dan machined parts in the machine shop and graduated from Michigan State University with a Science Degree.  Dan is sometimes seen at tractor shows investigating tractors and learning what is correct.  He loves talking to people and finding the next part needed.  His main concern is making the part just like original.  Jenny also has grown up in the business. As a young girl, she helped her father pack parts and enter the customer address information in the UPS receipt book. After school during junior high and high school, she remembers answering phones - helping customers and taking orders.  She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Business Degree and works with new parts development, purchasing and quality control.  They are rapidly expanding the inventory to meet their customers growing requirements.  At the same time, they are striving to increase quality and selection.  The company focus is to make Steiner Tractor Parts the best value and quality for your restoration parts needs.

Keep on plowing STP!

40th Anniversary

2017 marked our 40th anniversary of the production of our first new aftermarket part. Our founder, Dave Steiner grew up not only farming, but also buying and selling tractors. Over the years his passion for the tractors and machinery of his youth continued to increase. In 1977 when Dave built his first part – the Allis Chalmers B manifold – he was ahead of his time. Modern machines had replaced the tractors he fondly remembered and it was increasingly difficult to locate repair parts to keep his hobby running.

While there were other passionate collectors at the time, their numbers were fewer than today and they had limited opportunities to meet one another. Today there are tens of thousands of us who share the same excitement for the early days of innovation in tractor design and engineering, and our numbers continue to increase.

In this digital age, it is exciting to see customers not only helping to preserve agricultural history, but also sharing their knowledge and passing it on to others.

We invite you to join our community of tractor enthusiasts on Facebook, Instagram,  Twitter, Pinterest our YouTube channel and our blog. You can also now visit SteinerTractor.TV for free repair videos.  There are lots of opportunities not only to reminisce but also to share information and knowledge in these new and exciting formats.

We and all of the dedicated staff at Steiner Tractor Parts wish to thank you for making all of this possible. While we have great affection for the tractors, it is really the people driving them that make this industry special. We appreciate you more than words can say. For us, going to work is a joy.
